Russ Bray reveals staggering impact Luke Littler had on his darts app

Ahead of the PDC World Darts Championship 2025, legendary Russ Bray has revealed the staggering impact that teenage sensation Luke Littler has had on his darts app.
- [On Russ Bray Darts Scorer app] "Of course, I had to record all of the names for it, when we launched it. So, I'm sat in a room recording a million and one names, and then he put something out to allow people to send suggested names, and nicknames in, so we did a load of them - I really don't know how many I've done, but it's got to be in the thousands."
- "I'm waiting for the next batch of names to come through, and I can imagine it's going to be a couple of days of work for me, to be honest, because I haven't done it for a couple of years. That list is going to be mammoth."
- "I get paid by the app monthly, and after the World Championships last year, the big pay day for that one comes in February. Looking at what I normally get from it every month, I'd say the month after Luke Littler made the final, I got paid 12, maybe 13 times more than what I normally get. And then the following month was around nine times, and the month after was around eight times. So in those three months, it was just obscene."
- "I haven't been asked to do any of those TV shows, but I'd certainly do I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! I think I could handle all of that; I don't think I'd have any problems there. I've no problem eating weird and wonderful things. I'd certainly be up for going into the jungle."
'Luke Littler Effect' meant obscene growth for my darts app... my pay packet increased by THIRTEEN
I think it would've been about 13 years ago when a guy got in touch with me from up north - Andrew Aisbitt - and asked if he could do a Russ Bray darts app.
"You can, but how much will it cost me?" "It's not going to cost you anything; all you need to do is record a few bits, 180s, game on, that kind of thing."
It sounded easy enough, so I said OK and got it done. So, Andrew developed the app itself, and what he's done with it is just incredible. I wouldn't even know where to start!
It's become the thing that anyone playing darts seems to want; it's an app to play against your mates, but you can also practice on it; you can do what you want, really.
Of course, I had to record all of the names for it, when we launched it. So, I'm sat in a room recording a million and one names, and then he put something out to allow people to send suggested names, and nicknames in, so we did a load of them - I really don't know how many I've done, but it's got to be in the thousands.

I'd have an A4 sheet, with names going down both sides; there'd be something like 80 names on there, and I'd have sheet after sheet of them. Then I'd just have to sit there and record myself...
"The Destroyer... The Dark Destroyer... Pickle."
I'm waiting for the next batch of names to come through, and I can imagine it's going to be a couple of days of work for me, to be honest, because I haven't done it for a couple of years. That list is going to be mammoth.
Andy has since made the app accessible for people to play each other, from anywhere in the world, and the Luke Littler effect on it has just been absolutely incredible. I get paid by the app monthly, and after the World Championships last year, the big pay day for that one comes in February. Looking at what I normally get from it every month, I'd say the month after Luke Littler made the final, I got paid 12, maybe 13 times more than what I normally get. And then the following month was around nine times, and the month after was around eight times. So in those three months, it was just obscene. It's fantastic.
Other people have got other bits and pieces out there, but it really is a fantastic app, and it's getting better and better all the time, and now Unicorn have endorsed it, too.
I'm A Celeb? I'd LOVE to have a crack at it...
I haven't been asked to do any of those TV shows, but I'd certainly do I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! I think I could handle all of that; I don't think I'd have any problems there. I've no problem eating weird and wonderful things. I'd certainly be up for going into the jungle. Rats make me feel a bit funny, so I wouldn't be crazy for the thought of them running all over me, but you've got to remember that a show like I'm A Celebrity is never going to be too dangerous. You know, they can't put anything in there that's going to hurt you; they just daren't do anything that's dangerous in that sense. I'd love to have a crack at it.
I'd chat with Eric [Bristow] when he came out of the jungle a few years back, and he loved it. It just sounded like such good fun.
