One crazy prediction for every Premier League side in 2025/26
Published:
The Premier League 2024/25 and is almost over with the title race and relegation battles already wrapped up, attention is already turning to how next might pan out.
While the battle for Europe this is still well and truly alive and set to go down to the wire in the final three games, a host of clubs will already have one eye on making the next campaign a success.
Manchester City and Arsenal will be hoping to wrestle the title off champions Liverpool, while Leeds and Burnley have sealed promotion back to the top flight with one other Championship side also set to join by winning the play-offs.
Ladbrokes writers have stuck their necks out and had a go at making a bold prediction for each Premier League team.
Arsenal - To fail to sign a striker
It has been another season of falling just short for Arsenal, with Liverpool running away with the Premier League title and losing in the Champions League semi-finals to Paris Saint-Germain.
Their lack of striking firepower has been cited as a reason for their issues and, despite being linked with a number of goalscorers, including Viktor Gyokeres, we think the Gunners will fail to add a genuine No9 to their ranks once again.
Aston Villa - Ollie Watkins to leave
It has been another impressive season for Unai Emery's side but, even after selling the likes of Douglas Luiz and Jhon Duran over the last 12 months, recent reports suggest Villa could be forced into another sale this summer to comply with PSR regulations.
Of the current crop, striker Ollie Watkins' future looks the most in doubt and he appears most likely to be cashed in on - but not before he scores once more and becomes their record Premier league goalscorer.
The England striker is most likely to join Arsenal, according to the odds, but Manchester United or Chelsea may prove to be attractive proposals.
Bournemouth - To Win the Conference League
Bournemouth are on the rise under Andoni Iraola and look set for an eighth place finish, which chould secure Conference League qualification for next season.
Despite it being their first European campaign, the Cherries will be one of the stronger sides in the competition and look a good bet to go deep in the competition.
Brighton - To sell Baleba and replace him with an unknown wonderkid
Like most summers, a number of Brighton's players are set to be in demand this summer and midfielder Carlos Baleba could be the hardest of their young stars to keep hold of.
Seagulls fans should not worry though, as they have Paraguayan Diego Gomez, signed from Inter Miami in January, waiting in the wings to fill the Baleba void, while Jack Hinshelwood and Yasin Ayari should continue their promising developments.
Burnley - To break the promoted teams curse
After the three promoted teams were the same three to be relegated in each of the last two seasons, we are backing Burnley to be the side break that curse and avoid the drop.
Clarets have racked up 100 points in the Champions this season but what is perhaps more impressive is that they have conceded only 16 goals. That defensive solidity should stand Scott Parker's men in good stead to retain their top-flight status.
Brentford - Thomas Frank to be poached by a bigger club
The archetypal example of 'What a good job manager X is doing down there', 2025/26 could finally be the season a bigger club takes a punt on Thomas Frank.
Brentford gone from mid-table in the Championship to an established Premier League side under the Dane and after four seasons in the top flight, Frank has proved he is deserving of a job with one of the league's big hitters.
Chelsea - Tyrique George to be sold
Nineteen-year-old Tyrique George has enjoyed something of a breakthrough in the Conference League - and Todd Boehly and Co could be licking their lips at the prospect of a sale.
The Blues' regular raft of new signings that come every summer means they are likely to have to sell in order to comply with PSR and, as an academy player, George would represent pure profit on the balance sheet and could be another of their talents they let go.
Crystal Palace - Jean-Philippe Mateta to win the Golden Boot
With 33 goals in his last two seasons for Crystal Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta has proven his form his much more than just a purple patch and is one of the Premier League's most deadly strikers.
If the Eagles can continue to impress under Oliver Glasner, then the Frenchman could be an outside punt for the Golden Boot.
Everton - To qualify for Europe
On the topic of impressive second halves of the season, all appears to be well again at Everton under David Moyes.
With 52,000 roaring them on at their new stadium next season, the Toffees could summon the spirit of Nottingham Forest and swap a relegation for a European charge.

Fulham - To win the FA Cup
After reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals in two of the last three seasons as well as the Carabao Cup semi-final last season, Marco Silva has shown he takes the domestic cups seriously.
Fulham have an exciting squad under the Portuguese and with a number of the lesser sides reaching the latter stages this season, it might be time for the Cottagers to dream of their first ever major trophy.
Leeds - Farke to be the first manager to be sacked
Quickly after securing promotion back to the Premier League, rumours started to emerge that Daniel Farke could be replaced before the season starts.
The German is a Championship expert but has fallen short twice previously with Norwich in the cut-throat world of top flight and despite a public vote of confidence from the Leeds board, Farke is set to be the favourite to lose his job.
Liverpool - Conor Bradley to make Team of the Season
Trent Alexander-Arnold is on his way out of Liverpool but they could already have a ready-made replacement in Conor Bradley.
The Northern Irish 21-year-old has already shown his quality in Alexander-Arnold's absence previously and we think he could be an outside shout for the Premier League Team of the Season, especially if Liverpool retain their Premier League title.
Manchester City - Pep Guardiola to leave
Manchester City look to be at the end of their cycle and despite Pep Guardiola sticking around to oversee the rebuild this summer, the legendary Catalan may feel he has achieved everything there is to at the Etihad, especially if they win the Club World Cup this summer.
A new challenge is surely imminent and with plenty of uncertainty surrounding the club, next season may be when he decides to call time.
Manchester United - Rasmus Hojlund to score 10+ goals
After a dismal Premier League season which sees them sitting 15th, it is difficult to make any claims about Manchester United returning towards the top end of the table next season.
Instead, we are going for something more modest and backing troubled striker Rasmus Hojlund to break the 10-league goal barrier in his third season for the Red Devils.
Newcastle - Jacob Murphy to make the England squad
Jacob Murphy is not the most glamorous name among the many English stars currently plying their trade but few have been in better form than Newcastle's right-sided winger.
Ladbrokes have already named Murphy as an outside shout for the 2026 World Cup and if his form continues for the Champions League chasers, calls will only grow for Thomas Tuchel to give the 30-year-old a chance.
Nottingham Forest - To battle relegation
This may sound crazy given they could end the season by qualifying to the Champions League but trouble could be ahead for Nottingham Forest.
A potential European campaign could cause havoc with a team who have not made many changes to their starting XI this season, while Morgan Gibbs-White is one of a number of their players who could be in demand and they could struggle domestically if their stars are pinched.
Tottenham - Ryan Mason to take interim charge at any point
Despite reaching the Europa League final, Tottenham have endured a torrid campaign and Ange Postecoglou's future is still in doubt.
Their European exploits should keep the Australian into the new campaign but if their woes continue, trusty interim Ryan Mason may be thrown in for his third spell while Daniel Levy finds his next manager.
West Ham - Graham Potter to be sacked
Graham Potter's Premier League return with West Ham is turning into something of a disaster after winning only three of his 16 games in charge since his appointment in January.
With relegation not on the cards, the former Brighton and Chelsea boss should still last the summer but the Hammers may lose patience if there is no improvement in 2025/26.

Wolves - To be relegated
Wolves have risen up the table in recent weeks but it should not be forgotten how deep their relegation fears they were earlier in the season.
If the West Midlanders lose stars like Matheus Cunha, who is tipped to join Man United, and Joao Gomes, you would fear for them next season.
Play-off winner - To break Derby's lowest points record
The 20th spot in the Premier League is still yet to be decided, with Sheffield United, Sunderland, Coventry and Bristol City currently battling it out in the play-offs.
Premier League football has proven almost impossible task for promoted teams in the past and with last year's play-off winners Southampton still level on Derby's record of 11 points, the Rams' measly long-standing total could well be broken next season.
