But it was created in a different era. Its intricate design doesn't always translate well in today's digital world. And it's difficult to reproduce it clearly and consistently."

The decision is one that has receieved mixed reaction some fans. Some are angry about the fact thta the club's owners are trying to change an iconic crest, while otherwise understand the need to modernise things in the 21st century.

So, with that in mind, Ladbrokes has asked Chat GPT to create several new mock-ups for the new Newcastle crest, giving fans an idea of what they might expect from the new design.

The first design features very few changes, if any, which could appease the portion of Newcastle's fanbase who are pretty against a completely new crest design.

Chat GPT says: "The updated crest simplifies the original by using cleaner lines and fewer intricate details, making it more digitally versatile while retaining the core elements—black and white shield, seahorses, lion, and banner. It modernises the design without losing the heritage and symbolism of the original."

This new logo does take on the modernised twist that we've seen a few others clubs go down in recent years, such as Atletico Madrid.

The case of the Spanish side, they didn't change much about their logo, just modernised a few touches to give it a fresher look. That appears to be what Chat GPT has gone for with this first design.

The club do seem keen not to make major adjustments to the current crest, but what if they do end up going in a new direct and changing things drastically?

Well, Chat GPT has given us a few outside of the box predictions, the first of which completely changes the shape and style of the current design.

A new design like this could cause a bit of a stir though, with a portion of Newcastle fans likely to feel that it's simply too different from the current crest.
