Kevin De Bruyne's Top Five Premier League Moments

Assisting the final-day winner to earn 100 points (2017/18)

The 2017/18 campaign was the only Premier League season to ever see a side get 100 points, with City clinching their 'Centurions' tag in the final minute of the final match away at Southampton - who are currently on track to record one of the lowest Premier League points tallies of all time this season.

Kevin De Bruyne picked up the ball alongside his centre backs before unleashing an excellent ball over the top of Southampton's defence, which forward Gabriel Jesus latched onto before looping the ball over the oncoming goalkeeper. The goal rounded off an unforgettable season for both City and De Bruyne, making history and giving the Belgian one of his most iconic Premier League assists.

Scoring Man City's Goal of the Season (2019/20)

When Manchester City travelled up to Newcastle in November 2019, Kevin De Bruyne was at the peak of his powers, and the midfield magician showcased his ability with arguably his best ever Premier League goal.

These days, Newcastle United are consistently in the hunt for the Premier League's top four, but back when they were more concerned with avoiding relegation, it would be up to the likes of Man City to provide moments of magic at St. James' Park - and De Bruyne duly obliged.

When a cross from the left was headed clear, the Belgian latched onto the loose ball, taking it down on his chest before crashing a strike in off the underside of the bar. While it wasn't enough to clinch a victory, the goal was later voted Man City's Goal of the Season, and was just one reason why De Bruyne would go on to win the PFA Player of the Year Award.

Winning back-to-back PFA Player of the Year Awards (2019/20 & 2020/21)

Speaking of the PFA Player of the Year Award, which Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is currently the favourite to win this season, Kevin De Bruyne's reign of dominance over Premier League midfields was recognised as he won the trophy in back-to-back campaigns.

De Bruyne became only the third player to win the award in consecutive seasons when he retained the prize in 2021, cementing his legacy amongst the league's greats. The first of his wins came after he equalled Thierry Henry's long-standing record of 20 assists in a single season, before the following campaign saw him lift the Premier League trophy for the third time.

Grabbing his one and only Premier League hattrick (2021/22)

Of Kevin De Bruyne's 71 Premier League goals, four came in the same match as Man City thrashed Wolves in May 2022. With Man City hoping to retain their Premier League title and Liverpool breathing down their necks, the Belgian stepped up with his only PL hattrick to send his side clear in the title race.

Four emphatic finishes - three of which were with his weaker left foot - saw City cruise to a 5-1 victory at Molineux, with the midfielder clinching his hattrick inside the first 25 minutes to put the game beyond Wolves. To make the hattrick even more impressive, Wolves were a formidable force back then, with eyes on European football rather than being stuck in the bottom half.

Assisting Ilkay Gundogan's dramatic title-clincher (2021/22)

Wrapping up this rundown of KDB's very best Premier League moments is another vital assist - this time to clinch the league title. As Man City hosted Aston Villa on the final day of the 2021/22 season, City knew that a win would see them lift the trophy for the fourth time in five seasons - but a slip-up would open the door for Liverpool to snatch the title away.

When Villa went into a 2-0 lead through Philippe Countinho on 69 minutes, many people thought City had fallen at the final hurdle, but three goals in five minutes turned the game on its head and ensured that the trophy stayed in Manchester - and it was De Bruyne who worked his magic for the winner.

Pouncing on a loose ball, he took two excellent touches down the right before rolling an inch-perfect ball along the six yard box for Ilkay Gundogan to tap in at the back post, winning the league and cueing pandemonium.
