Jonathan Tah next club odds: Liverpool to be beaten by Barcelona

A year after guiding Bayer Leverkusen to an invincible Bundesliga season, Jonathan Tah is set to leave the club this summer, and Ladbrokes has odds on his next club.

Tah is out of contract this summer, and with no agreement on the horizon, the German defender will be wearing a new shirt come the beginning of next season.

As for his next club, the latest odds suggest that Liverpool are one of the front-runners, but aren't actually the Leverkusen man's most likely new destination.

Ladbrokes has odds live for many players and their next clubs ahead of the transfer window opening, such as Mohammed Kudus, Dean Huijsen and Alexander Isak.

However, the situation with Tah is slightly different given that he's out of contract this summer. His Bayer Leverkusen deal expires on June 30, so unless he has a major change of heart and extends, the defender will need to search for a new club.

That shouldn't be too hard of a task for the player's agent. Many clubs across Europe are searching for a ball-playing centre-back with experience playing on the biggest stage, and Tah more than fits the fill.

Barcelona (2/1) lead the way, according to Ladbrokes, when it comes to the club most likely to sign Tah this summer. Liverpool aren't too far behind though, with odds of 7/2.

Newcastle are also in the conversation, based on the latest odds, with Real Madrid and Champions League finalists inter Milan not too far behind either to round out the top five favourites.

The situation with Madrid could end up changing though, as Carlo Ancelotti is expected to depart the club this summer, with former Los Blancos midfielder Xabi Alonso becoming the new manager.

Alonso is currently Tah's manager, and given how the pair have worked well together at Leverkusen, it wouldn't be too surprising to see the ex-Real Madrid midfielder look to bring his trusted skipper to Spain.

Eric Dier is on his way out of Bayern Munich, set to join Monaco at the end of the season, so Vincent Kompany is in the market for an experience centre-back.

Kompany could end up turning to Tah, and should the German want to remain in the Bundesliga, a move to Bayern Munich could well materialise.

If that does happen, then Tah may not be the only Leverkusen play Bayern end up signing this summer, with the German giants the favourites to sign Florian Wirtz, over Manchester City

Speaking of City, Pep Guardiola's side are considered outsiders for Tah's signature, with PSG and Juventus also priced as long shots by the bookies.
