Ladbrokes' EFL Championship predictions

Luton to beat Coventry

The lunchtime kick-off sees Luton welcome Coventry to Kenilworth Road in what is a season-defining match for both teams, with Luton fighting for their lives and Coventry doing everything to secure a play-off spot.

Luton Town were in the Premier League last season, and now have two games to save themselves from dropping down into League One, starting with this one against Frank Lampard's Sky Blues. The Hatters are picking up form at the perfect time, wining their last two games, and know that survival will be secured if they can win their final two.

Coventry, on the other hand, know that their play-off fight is likely to go down to the final day, with Middlesbrough and Millwall both breathing down their necks just outside the top six. Ladbrokes is backing Luton to continue their resurgent form here, putting the pressure on the teams around them.

Derby to beat Hull

Following a potentially season-saving win at the Hawthorns on Easter Monday, Derby travel to Hull on Saturday 26 April with their sights set on back-to-back victories to guide them away from the bottom three.

Hull currently sit just two points above their visitors, and are also coming into the game off the back of an Easter-Monday victory, but Derby have only lost two games from their last nine, so Ladbrokes is backing the Rams to secure another impressive win here.

Victory would see Derby leapfrog their hosts and go into the final day with real belief of survival. This will be an incredibly tense affair, with both sides desperate for the points in what is a relegation six-pointer.

Middlesbrough to beat Norwich

Middlesbrough's fate this season is still in their own hands, with a final-day clash against Coventry City and an impressive goal difference meaning that two wins from their final two games will likely guarantee their play-off spot.

The first of those two games sees Norwich travel to the Riverside, and with the Canaries floundering in 14th with nothing to play for, Middlesbrough's intensity and drive should be too much.

The pressure is all on Michael Carrick's side, and three defeats in their last four suggests they're beginning to feel it, but Norwich have only won one game from their last 10 Championship matches. They also sacked their manager in the week, which shows just how far off the pace they've been this season.

Millwall to win against Swansea

Millwall still have an outside chance of snatching a top-six spot come the end of the season, with just three points between them and the play-off places after an excellent run of form.

The Lions have won four of their last five games, including crucial wins against Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, and continue to look up the table as the season nears its climax, with visitors Swansea the next team looking to dent their hopes.

The Swans have won their last five games, so come to the Den with real confidence of claiming another. The pressure is off Swansea as they sit down in 11th with no real hopes of play-offs, but they'll be keen to finish the season strong. That being said, with so much to play for, we're backing Millwall to get the job done.

Leeds to win at home to Bristol City

Rounding off this Championship acca is a game that promises to be a blockbuster, as Premier League-bound Leeds United host play-off hopefuls Bristol City.

With this being the final home game of Leeds' season before a Premier League campaign in 2025/26, Elland Road will be bouncing, with no pressure and a celebratory atmosphere - but Bristol City will be desperate to spoil the party.

The Robins aren't sure of their top-six finish yet, but know a win will guarantee their place in the play-offs, so they won't roll over for Leeds' title parade. Bristol City lost to Luton on Easter Monday in a disappointing display, so will be looking to regain their form - but we're tipping Leeds to sign off from Elland Road in style.
