Cheltenham Festival 2025 day two tips

Turners Novices’ Hurdle - 13:20

The market for the Novices' Hurdle is tight between The New Lion (15/8) and Final Demand (6/4), but we’re siding with Final Demand.

Willie Mullins’ runner has impressed in Ireland and looks the stronger stayer. For an each-way bet, The Yellow Clay (5/1) offers solid place potential.

Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase - 14:00

All eyes are on Ballyburn (8/11 for the Novices' Chase, who looks the banker of the day, stepping up to three miles seamlessly. If you’re after an each-way alternative, Mullins’ Dancing City (5/1) has strong stamina and could push the favourite close.

Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle - 14:40

The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle is a typically wide-open affair. Be Aware (9/2) has been heavily backed and looks primed for a big run, while Bunting (5/1) leads the Mullins charge. If you’re after an outsider, Jimmy Du Seuil (14/1) has been tipped by some experts to outrun his odds.

Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase - 15:20

Stumptown (11/4) is the one to beat in the Cross Country Chase, but at the weights, we prefer Galvin (7/2) for Gordon Elliott. A former Grade 1 winner, he was second in this race in 2023 and looks primed for another big run. Mister Coffey (13/2) is a decent each-way shout for the places.

Queen Mother Champion Chase - 16:00

Jonbon (10/11) has been dominant this season and looks set to claim his first Champion Chase title. Marine Nationale (9/2) is a strong each-way contender, having progressed well over fences, while Energumene (13/2) could surprise if bouncing back to form.

Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase

Last year’s Challenge Cup winner Unexpected Party (11/2) has been trained specifically for this race and looks well-placed to defend his title. JPR One (10/1) and The King Of Prs (13/2) are worth consideration for each-way punters in this competitive handicap.

Champion Bumper

Willie Mullins dominates again, with Copacabana (11/4) the favourite for the Champion Bumper, but Gameofinches (4/1) has been catching the eye and could be the stable’s first string. Bambino Fever (6/1) has been improving and looks a solid each-way option.
