Arsenal odds: Gunners to finish outside the top four?

Ladbrokes looks at the odds of Arsenal, who have spent most of the season in a title race with Liverpool, doing the unthinkable and finishing outside the top four.

The Gunners, whose priority has shifted to the Champions League in recent months, have been unable to catch Arne Slot's Reds on the way to winning the Premier League this season and the Gunners are now closer to the teams behind them than the one side ahead of them.

Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth means five teams, starting with third-placed Manchester City all the way down to Aston Villa in seventh, can still catch Mikel Arteta's men with three games to play.

While fifth place will still secure Champions League qualification in the Premier League, dropping out of the top four would represent an extraordinary slip up by the North Londoners.

Arsenal to finish outside the top four odds

While Arsenal are still firmly in the driving seat when it comes to finishing in the top four, one Premier League win in five game has allowed the chasing pack to gain ground on the Gunners.

Just seven points now separate Arteta's side and Villa all the way down in seventh, with all those teams still battling for Champions League qualification as the race goes down to the wire.

The Gunners have a tricky set of fixtures to end the season, too, with a trip to Anfield to face Premier League champions Liverpool coming this weekend, days after losing in the Champions League semi-finals to Paris Saint-Germain.

They then face fellow Champions League chasers Newcastle at home before visiting basement boys Southampton on the final, with the potential of a Champions League final just a week later still on the cards.

An impressive end to the season Man City leaves them only three points behind Arsenal, a strong recovery after a poor first half of the campaign, with winnable games against Southampton, Bournemouth and Fulham to end their season.

Newcastle are just four points behind Arsenal in fourth and can gain further ground on their rivals when they visit the Emirates on May 18.

Chelsea, also four points behind Arsenal, are another team finding form when it matters this season after winning their last three, including a 3-1 victory over champions Liverpool on Sunday.

Nottingham Forest, who slipped out of the top five this weekend after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, are still within touching distance of Arsenal as they sit six points behind and have favourable games against Leicester and West Ham to come.

Aston Villa are the outsiders for the Champions League but can still climb as high as second between now and the end of the season if results go their way, with games against Bournemouth, Tottenham and Manchester United to come.
